My list for you:: 1)maintain excellent oral hygiene prior to surgery and get your teeth cleaned professionaly. 2) follow all pre-op instructions from your surgeon. 3) plan out diets for soft foods/liquids and have them ready as nutrition is very important. 4) get prescriptions ahead of time. 5) have your work /school schedule worked out. 6) have good movies and books ready. Communicate: Talk to both Oral Surgeon and Orthodontic Specialist about pre-op preparation. Keep your mouth scrupulously clean...don't forget to clean between teeth. Don't damage your braces...watch what you eat. Lay in a supply of liquid high protein supplements. You'll be thrilled with the outcome.
