Ask Anesthesiologist: Write down all your questions and concerns before surgery and when you meet with anesthesiologist ask him/her to address those concerns. General anesthesia is typically safe; as with any procedures, it has it's benefits, risks and alternatives.

Very safe.: Unless you have had prior problems with anesthesia, it is generally far safer than the surgery!
