Depends on: What it is from. The most common cause if it is in the thumb, index and/or middle fingers, is carpel tunnel syndrome. You will need a physical exam to make sure it is not coming from nerve entrapment at the elbow, brachial plexus or neck, but until then, try stretching. Look up carpel tunnel exercises and see if this improves your numbness and pain and it can help in diagnosis.
