A member asked:

Can you tell me if gall stones always show up on a ct scan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

About 80%: Of the time gallstones will be visible on ct, with cholesterol stones less likely to be identified. Ultrasound is the best, gold standard method for looking for stones and sludge in the gallbladder.
