Mosquito allergy: At times, mosquito allergy is caused by allergic antibody that can be detected by a blood test called a rast. Typically, this testing is negative. It is believed that most unusally lage local reactions, that occur after a bite, are caused by blood cells that have become allergic to mosquito salivary proteins. Early treatment with topical steroids is often helpful.
