Each is a neuro-: Developmental disorder with its own set of symptoms ; observable behaviors required for diagnosis by dsm-v criteria. Each is a categorical diagnosis, meaning that they are not etiologic diagnoses that explain the genetic or other medical condition that causes the symptoms in a individual. 40-70% of children ; teens with ASD also have adhd ; require multi-modal treatment for both.
