Could chewing gum ruin your teeth?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends on type : The damage that chewing gums does to your teeth depends on the kindofgum you chew and how frequently you chew. Regular gum with sugar will increase decay. Chewing gum cn be very helpful for someone with dry mouth because it helps to stimulate saliva production. Xylitol gums will protect the teeth from decay. Chewing can increase TMJ pain in us suseptable people. Hope this helps.
