See cardiologist....: If you are still having chest pain even with a normal ekg, you should see a heart doctor to be certain your pain is not from your heart. There are other tests that may be needed, depending on your situation, including echocardiogram, exercise stress test, etc. A cardiologist will be able to tell you for sure that your pain is not from your heart. Less likely: A nl ekg does not completely exclude active heart disease. If there are persistent symptoms cardiology eval with echo, stress test and cardiac enzymes may be in order. If these tests are neg and symptoms persist atrial of nsaids for costochondritismay be helpful.
