What to do if i have major depressive disorder, is it considered a mental illness or condition?

Major Depression: Major depression can be devastating when not treated, so if you in fact are seriously depressed please ask your doctor for a referral to a mental health professional who can help return to your previous level of functioning. You are not necessarily mentally ill because you are very depressed. Best.
