A variety of reasons: Some people define themselves by where they've been and what they've done. Some men find camaraderie in remembering together. Some still carry scars they're trying to work out. Some are trying to hold on to memories before they slip away. The vietnam war defined a generation. I imagine people will keep talking about it for another generation.
