A member asked:

Could drinking coffee while nursing reduce your milk supply?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Caffeine- nursing: The coffee is not so much the problem as the caffeine is. Modest caffeine intake will not affect milk supply, but if you get over 300-400 mg of caffeine daily it could affect production and also be passed to the infant and make them a bit more "wired". Try decaf coffee or limit yourself to just a cup or two daily. Thanks for dong this for your baby - breast is best!
