Could "mass" often mean relatively larger and irregular-shaped growths, while lumps are round-shaped smaller ones?

In medicine: "masses" and "lumps" are used interchangeably (and we seldom use the latter (lump) except in certain surgeries ( eg: "lumpectomy") Hope this helps Dr Z
