The lower the birth : weight, the higher the risk of having any neurodevelopmental disorder, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay with either Intellectual Disability or Specific Learning Disabilities at school age, Cerebral Palsy, &/or ADHD. Early Intervention from birth-3 & Early Childhood Special Education from 3-5 can significantly alter the developmental trajectory.
