Musculoskeletal: A twenties female with acute upper back pain absent fever or shortness of breath raises concern for muscle spasm. Most curiously, when weather gets cold many young adults wake with back and neck muscle spasms that take days and weeks to resolve. If a woolen nightshirt with a turtleneck, massage, icy hot, acupuncture, and rest do not help then see an osteopath. Should resolve in a few days.
