Possible but work: On eradicating nasal carriage from mom and dad, most likely source. Not usually from carpet, but from smoking parents.

Other sources: Mrsa staph is around us in almost any environment inside or outside the house.On treatment, mom is less likely a source than others who may carry it without symptoms in their nasal passages.Objects in the home or outside may carry it transiently, but it eventually dies off without a source of hydration.Pulling the carpet is overkill, unless you didn't like it anyway.
