How long does a tdap shot last? i got one in 2009 and i'm wondering if i'm good if i get cut by something rusty.

TETANUS PROPHYLAXIS:: If you got a dirty wound / got cut by something rusty, better get a td or tdap. Normally tdap boostering is needed every 10 years.

You're fine: Your tdap will cover you for tetanus exposures up to 2019. It is not just rusty cuts, any that become contaminated by tetanus spores(more common in dirty areas like gardens) and thease can be almost anywhere.
