A member asked:

Heart rate concerns. do i need ekg or echo ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both: Ekg will diagnose your rhythm accurately at the moment it's recorded (for 8 seconds). Echo will determine if you have evidence of heart disease, ie a structurally normal and strong heart. You may also need a 24 hour recording of your heart rhythm (holter) or 30 day transient arrhythmia (tam) event monitor depending on the problem.
