Short term memory: Ad is characterized initially difficulty learning and retaining new information. One can also have behavioral changes such as irritability, anxiety. Anyone exhibiting these changes should see a doctor for a complete evaluation including blood work, review of meds and depression screen. Ad is not the only type of cognitive disorder. Others include vascular disease of the brain, lewy body dz, etc.
