Symptom control: Alzheimer's disease has no cure. Symptomatic control consists of slowing the deterioration clinically observed without affecting the underlying course of the disease. Medications such as Aricept (donepezil), Namenda (memantine), and others, are examples of helpful drugs providing symptomatic control.
