No, if I understand: What you mean as it being a strategy, is not formal ocd. To the extent it's genetic, the symptoms aren't basically a choice even if they serve to keep certain emotions at bay. People may be hard to get close to due to the ocd, but they have internal pressure to do things they do and their thoughts intrude on them. Non-ocd folk might behave in rigid ways to preserve the order they seek by design.
