Proper training: Al depends on how long you have to get ready.First you should have a good solid base of at least 3-4 days /wk running from 3-5 miles,for 4-6 wks.This adds up to 9-20 miles/wk. Some of this can be track workouts of 11/2-2 miles at 75% speed once a week. Then you can do speed work on track 1x/wk and interval training 1x/wk.Your other day or 2 will be distance and recovery.See runners world.Good luck
