Can : Can not tell you the reason. However, because it is spring there are many more allergens in the air. So, if you have seasonal allergies, that could be triggering your asthma. Might be helpful to be tested by an allergist.

Asthma : Asthma symptoms can change with age. At times they can get worse. You can use your inhaler pre-exercise, but suggest you see your doctor to make sure that that is all you need.

First, : First, we need more information. Do you have any symptoms of nasal allergy ("hay fever"? If you have allergies, the increase in pollen may be the cause of your worsening asthma. If you have to use your inhaler only before running, you may still be ok. If you need to use it more than twice a day per week on top of using it before exercise, you need regular asthma medication and absolutely need to see an allergist.
