Do you smoke?: If you smoke, then you are at risk for developing lung cancer at a later age. If you have a family history of lung cancer in non-smokers, or if you are exposed to wood or silica dust, asbestos, or second-hand smoke on a regular basis, you are also at risk. It's rare to develop lung cancer at age 16, but what you do at age 16 influences your later risk!

Dream on: At sixteen, if you have been smoking three packs a day since you were 6, live next to a functioning steel mill, and have an active radon pump into your room, you stand no chance of having lung cancer. Worry about other things.
