Yes: 3 years old is fine to see the dentist. Many general dentists treat children and there are even pediatric dentists.

Absolutely: Most children are seen by 2 years old nowadays, if not sooner. A pediatric dentist may be best for the toddler if s/he needs a bit more TLC at the doctor's office.

2 years overdue. If child had seen Dentist, or preferably a children's dental specialist, a Pedodontist, at age 1, the probable infections that are causing him/her pain could have been avoided. Infections are not safe. Dental treatment is. Please consider seeing a Pedodontist who will be best able to provide the best treatment.And don't delay. cavities in baby teeth spread like wild fire.
