Soft moist non spicy: Most dry and spicy food will increase reflux and worsen esophageal dismotility. Limit coffee and alcohol intake as well.

Dysphagia foods: Soft, gooey foods are easier to swallow. Solid foods may be minced or blenderized or added to foods like pudding or jello to aid is swallowing. Go see a speech therapist to suggest dietary modifications.

It depends: Dysphagia is a descriptive term for difficulty swallowing. when present, it is necessary to determine the cause of the problem before making recommendations as far as the foods that are safer to eat. For example, after a stoke people tend to have more problems drinking than eating and some have to drink thickened liquids. Careful evaluation by a dysphagia expert is needed but relief is possible.
