Trouble swallowing: Many causes, mostly involve the nerves and muscles of the throat. Need a doctor to assess the severity....Complex actions in swallowing, involving tongue, soft palate and throat.Vocal cords have to close too so the food doesn't fall into the airway.

Swallowing problem: Dysphagia is the medical term for swallowing problems. It can be causes by multiple problems with a tongue problem being one of a long list of throat, neurological and gastrointestinal problems.
