I don't think...: ...You should be asking this question of people who have never seen the child. Get second, third, fifteenth opinion if you want, but get it from people who have at least some basis for advising you. Every kid is different; even doctors who really don't like giving stimulants to children this young will see one who would really benefit, every once in a while.

It depends : If the diagnosis is accurate and the child has significant impairment and other treatment modalities did help, a trial of medications is recommended
