A member asked:

Do cinnamon supplements help reduce blood sugar levels and are they safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Partially: Cinnamon has a stabilizing affect on blood sugar. However, be very careful how much you use. Cinnamon has coumarin which has similar properties to Coumadin (warfarin) (the blood thinner). While coumarin is not as potent as coumadin, (warfarin) it still has liver affects and some blood thinning properties. Just don't put cinnamon on everything and think there won't be anything harmful.
