Irregular heart: Palpitations are a symptom. It is a feeling of an irregular heart beat. This can be due to a fast heart rate or an irregular heart rhythmn such as with atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia. Palpitations can be benign or very serious.

Abnormal: And are associated with serious conditions including ischemia, and angina, and heart attack. Many times, a few irregularities are rare, benign, and no risk. If very fast, persistent then there is risk and the body, brain responds with fight or flight response.
