Beta blockers /doc: Anxiety drives adrenaline (sympathetic nerve) stimulation which stimulates beta receptors in the heart to allow the heart rate speed up and race (palpitations). Many of these disabling symptoms can be improved by blunting the effects of the sympathetic stimulation on the heart (beta blockers). Getting to the root of the anxiety and treating that will help too.

See a doctor: Anxiety or panic attacks and heart attacks can have very similar symptoms. The description of persisting symptoms is atypical for a classic panic attach, which tends to peak quicly and dissipate within 15-20 minutes or so. What you should do depends on diagnosis, which only an examination can do - with cardiac symptoms generally immediate and prompt evaluation is needed. Dont mess around c a doc.
