Anti inflammatory: You could try Ibuprofen or aleve ( naproxen).These are medicines which help with the inflammation and also reduce pain.

Back pain: I would start with seeing a neurologist and see if they can determine where the pain is coming from, then it would be appropriate to start pain medication. They also might recommended physical therapy as part of the treatment.
