starting ivf in uk. told that having herpes 2 outbreak during treatment could result in cancellation of ivf cycle, why? what are the implications?

Rare: If worried could begin medicine to prevent an outbreak. Theoretically if you had an active outbreak the eggs when removed or the embryos when placed back in could become infected and cause major problems. But certainly not a common problem to occur.
