NEED EXAM: After a blunt trauma it is possible to have bleeding into the muscle, which could then turn into an encapsulated collection of blood. This is the muscle and not the vessel. It is also possibe for the vein to have been crushed enough to trigger a response that allows a clot to develop in a vessel. A good exam and possibley an ultrasound needed to differentiate. A clot in the vessel will need tx.
