Swelling: You do have several choices. Yes, regular doc can help , too or you could move podiatry appointment up and if the swelling is not related he can help get a referral to the appropriate doc probably faster than you can get an appointment yourself. Or stick with your plan.

Swelling Post Surg: I am always concerned, perhaps overly, with a blood clot in your leg. If the calf is tight and sore, go to the er for a doppler ultrasound now. If they rule that out, you can see what your internist says on the 18th. Dr rich blake.
