What ssri has proven most effective for someone with ocd and bipolar?

OCD and bipolar: I don't believe that there are comparative studies that compare antidepressants for ocd in bipolar disorder. In my experience i pick the one that seems to be best suited for the patient's condition and make sure that they are on adequate antimanic medication so as not to throw them into mania, rapid cycling, or a mixed mood state. Best wishes.

Tough to answer: Because bipolar disorder often does not respond well to antidepressants. Which ssri a person will do best with for their ocd is very individual, it really could be any one of them, but for bipolar, it is crucial to be on a mood-stabilizer. For bipolar depression we used to say add wellbutrin. Now we have seroquel xr, abilify, and Latuda (lurasidone) approved for bipolar depression. Latuda (lurasidone) seems to work well.

Best SSRI?: Sorry that we cannot recommend specific brands for specific illnesses, but your doctor is available & would be the best to inquire from.
