Need to see: Your surgeon soon , to make sure no infection is setting around the catheter , only your surgeon can explain after examination the cause of your pain

Neck pain: Most of neck pain is benign, musculoskeletal discomfort. With a shunt it may indicate shunt malfunction or breakage. If there are associated symptoms of hydrocephalus such as headache, visual changes, nausea, or your specific symptoms see your neurosurgeon immediately. Either way a shunt series of x-rays and trip to the neurosurgeon is a good idea.
