Yes or no.: If you need extra because you lift-yes. If you need protein supplements because you don't eat meat-yes. If older and frail-good for you!

A 44-year-old member asked:
Is it safe to drink protein shakes if I am allergic to soy?

Dr. Madhukar Punjaanswered

No: You should stay away from anything that has soy if you are allergic to it; certainly not a protein drink which is most likely loaded with soy. You should carefully read the labels and look for drink that has no soy in it.

A 18-year-old male asked:
I want to know if it is better to take protein shakes with milk or if it's better and what the difference would be thank you!

Protein shakes: Better to take with milk or with what? You don't say what alternative to milk you have in mind. But i think i can say this...If the protein shake has whey as its protein source then mixing it with milk would be redundant. If the protein source is soya, then mixing it with milk would give you a wider range of amino acids.
