Metal Allergy: Localized rash around ring could be concerning for a metal allergy. Most common form of metal hypersensitivity is allergic contact dermatitis caused by nickel. Nickel and other metals are found in many commercial products, including zippers, buttons, jewelry, watches, and eye glass frames, and many of these items have been linked to contact dermatitis reactions.
