Living with HIV: I may have to ask for a clarification. Your question seems dated. Dated because this situation you describe in in patients not on treatment who have allowed their immune function to deteriorate. Now a days most people in our communities here in america are getting good and effective treatment that keeps their immune function strong. They are actually thriving with HIV infection.
