Live: There are 2 types of vaccines, live and dead. Live vaccines are made of strains that cannot cause real disease, but produce an immune response by causing a mild infection. Most vaccines are not live, but are made of carefully selected parts of specific germs. Those parts are dead, but still trigger an immune response that prevents disease from that germ.
