HSV infections: HSV-1 means herpes simplex virus above the waist. Usually presents with cold sores or mouth ulcerations. HSV-2 means gential herpes. While active disease gives an abnormal test by IgM. But herpes is forever. There is good treatment however. See your family doc for this like acyclovir.
