Often allergies: Allergies are a common cause of asthma in children and can last into adulthood. Though there is no cure, asthma can be controlled but inhaled medications and avoiding "triggers" that cause attacks. It is not uncommon for children to seem to be cured upon reaching their teens. However, it can reappear years later (or not). In any case get tested and get treated if necessary. Good luck.
