Don't know: It depends on clinical situation and whether radiographic exam is necessary. Ct exams of head can help in certain clinical situations. Physician should determine wheter xray examination is necessary for diagnosis of problem.

Chest pain/discomfort starting 1 yr ago on and off. I went to the ER when it started and got my heart checked out (ecg) and an X-ray and everything ok. Prilosec helps but still will have pain when I move my arms, head and shoulders in certain ways.
Last September I went to the ER for numbness in left arm. They said I either have a pinched nerve or herniated disc in my cervical spine. When I turn my head I can feel the pain radiate down my arm. Can feel pain when I do neck exercises. X-ray ASAP?
2 trips to ER no answers. Left side pain: lower back of head, neck, shoulder, chest x3wks. Chest xray fine. Heart and lung levels good. Any ideas?
