Dr. Craig Carter answered

Specializes in Thoracic Surgery

Information: Two basic types, small cell and non- small cell. Best treated if found early, which usually means found when looking for something else. If possible, best treated with surgical resection. If not, can be treated with radiation and /or chemotherapy. Newer treatments are generally aimed at patients not considered good surgical candidates. Most common cause: smoking.
