A member asked:

I'm worried because my son had been given 4 times of antibiotic for this year. is it too much already for a 3 year old toddler, what do you suggest?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It happens: You treat infections when they arise because letting infections progress to chronic problems or secondary complications that could impair function is not realistic. Kids get more infections when they are young, many have half a dozen ear infections in a year.Recovery with proper management does not impair their future or the reliability of future antibiotic use.
