Sometimes...: It is difficult to tell who will respond to which medication, but sertraline is a good one and often helps. Be patient...These meds can take up to 6 weeks for full effectiveness. Counselling (such as behaviora modification therapy) with a psychologist can also be helpful, adding to that of the meds.

Multiple treatments: Sertraline is indicated for anxiety. You will need to follow up with your doctor to asess response to it. Dose may need to be adjusted.And you have to take it for the recommended length of time. Cognitive behavioral therapy is also used to treat anxiety. Regular follow up with your doctor is crucial.

Sertraline: Zoloft (sertraline) increases serotonin in brain & has been used for anxiety alone or with anti-anxiety medications. Headache is possible side-effect, and anxiety symptoms start to subside within few weeks. If not, discuss with the prescriber possible add on medications for anxiety attacks (ex. Short-acting benzodiazepines).
