I got asthma when i was born but it went away, will i get it again?

Likely not: Many factors go into the development of asthma. Most people will not diagnose an infant with asthma in the first place. I would guess that you had bronchiolitis or another condition that causes recurrent wheezing if you were diagnosed with asthma at birth. The fact that you no longer have this condition and are 34 years of age would argue against developing asthma or having it recur.

Labels /labels .....: Much of what is called asthma in kids is not. Most is related to a variety of respiratory virus infections that can be quite worrisome in an infant. However, about 60-70% of these quit wheezing by school age and never have problems later.I do not call this asthma. A 1-2 yo that ends up in the ICU several times a year with wheezing may have true asthma.
