Sensitive teeth: Anything extremely hot or icy cold will cause a living tooth to experience some discomfort. Once the tooth gets back to body temperature, the pain should be gone. A lingering ache to anything super sweet or extreme temps, could be decay or a diseased pulp. Check with your dentist and get an x-ray of the teeth that are reacting this way.

Cold Sensitive Teeth: If eating ice cream make your teeth hurt, you are probably suffering from cold sensitive teeth. This is a problem that should be dealt with right away. See your dentist for evaluation and treatment.
