Can kids get heart disease from fatty foods?

Over time, yes: En3rgygirl, (great handle!) - in the 1950s, autopsies showed that unfortunate 18 year olds who were killed in the korean war had fatty streaks in their aortas, a sign at that tender age of early atherosclerosis. Thus children should be taught early on to eat a prudent diet, both for the present and to form the habit to last a lifetime. Speak with your pediatrician for specific guidance.

Fatty foods : High trans fat and saturated foods over a lifetime can increase risk of atherosclerosis. The early fatty streaks have been found in people as young as 18.
