Interior heart: The interior heart structures are usually referring to the valves, chords and muscle that provide the hearts forward pumping function. There are many reasons these structures can wear down, such as some types of infection, rheumatologic diseases, coronary disease, cardiomyopathies, and otherwise general wear and tear with age.
